These paintings are about being in love and how that feels when I think about it later, alone in the studio. Objects in nature- rocks, water, branches or an oversized sun/moon- stand in as figures and act as metaphor for human interaction and strength of feeling. Figures fool around in the woods uninhibited, but time passes. These paintings are a mix of memory and imagination. The invented landscape is greatly influenced by time spent in the woods of Maine and Vermont, filtered through my daydreams about those places while living and working in Brooklyn.
