My work deals with the mind-body connection, what we hold onto the in the body, and what can happen when it’s released through movement.
The challenge I’ve created for myself is to pursue these feelings and sensations through the physical act of painting, to tune into those subtleties, and to linger on them long enough that they can then transfer onto the canvas/paper. This stream-of-consciousness painting forces me to follow my gut instinct, to listen more intuitively, and has become a way of documenting the rhythm of the way my mind moves, like an alternative form of meditation.
